Trump reveals peace plan for Ukraine: U.S. proposal includes possible transfer of part of Russian territory

Within the next three days, Donald Trump intends to reveal the details of a U.S.-backed peace plan aimed at resolving the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, according to the New York Post, citing informed sources.

Preliminary information suggests that the plan could involve the deployment of European peacekeeping forces, as well as the establishment of a commission comprising representatives from Russia, Ukraine, and a third neutral (non-NATO) country to jointly oversee the ceasefire.

One source claims that under the proposed agreement, Ukraine might be prepared to de facto acknowledge the loss of about 20% of its territory currently under Russian control. However, it is emphasized that this would be a recognition of the factual occupation, not a legal renunciation of the land.

“De facto’ means we acknowledge that the Russians occupy this land, but it doesn’t mean Ukraine is giving it up forever. ‘De jure’ would mean formally recognizing the territory as permanently lost, the source explained.

The development and potential announcement of this plan could play a pivotal role in Trump’s presidential campaign and may shift the direction of international efforts to de-escalate the conflict.
