School shooting in Sweden: 10 dead, 15 injured

A mass shooting occurred at the Risbergska educational center in the Swedish city of Örebro, resulting in at least 10 deaths and 15 injuries, according to local news outlet SVT.

According to media reports, the bodies of the victims were found inside the building, but the death toll may rise. At least five of the injured have been taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds, and their condition is still being assessed.

The shooter was a 35-year-old man armed with an automatic weapon. He was killed in a shootout with the police. Authorities report that he had no prior criminal record and was not associated with any criminal organizations. Residents have been urged to stay indoors.

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson called the incident the deadliest mass shooting in the country’s history. Together with Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer, he has called an emergency press conference, though details have not yet been disclosed.

Emergency services are currently working at the scene, and a large-scale rescue operation is underway. The circumstances of the tragedy are being investigated.
