US President Donald Trump congratulated conservatives on their victory in the German parliamentary elections, expressing his congratulations through the social network Truth Social.
It looks like the conservative party in Germany has won the long-awaited and significant elections. Just like in the US, the people of Germany are tired of politics devoid of common sense, especially on energy and immigration issues that have prevailed for many years, Trump wrote.
He also added, “This is a great day for both Germany and the United States of America under the leadership of a gentleman named Donald J. Trump.”
It is worth noting that in the Bundestag elections, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and the right-wing party Alternative for Germany (AfD) won. It is unlikely that these parties will form a coalition, and the CDU will likely join forces with left-wing parties.
The Berlin press also reports that Friedrich Merz, the leader of the CDU, is referred to as “the last patron of the establishment,” and if he fails in his bid for chancellor, right-wing forces could gain more influence in Germany. Earlier, it was reported that US Vice President JD Vance met with the leader of the Alternative for Germany, Alice Weidel, in Germany.
