Marine Le Pen involved in minor maritime accident during visit to Mayotte

Marine Le Pen, the informal leader of the right-wing National Rally party, was involved in a minor maritime accident during her visit to the overseas French territory of Mayotte, which is recovering from a devastating hurricane.

This was reported by BFMTV, citing an unnamed source.

The incident occurred on the morning of January 7, when Le Pen was aboard a barge traveling between islands in the archipelago. The barge collided with another barge traveling in the opposite direction. Both vessels sustained no significant damage from the impact.

Unofficial reports indicate that three people were injured in the incident, though Le Pen was not among them.

The informal leader of the National Rally had traveled to the island to meet with local authorities and residents to discuss their issues.
