The Vienna court acquitted a 17-year-old Syrian who had raped a 12-year-old girl for several months, reports Kurier.
The criminal’s lawyer claimed that the victim was to blame herself, alleging that she had sent the offender naked photos. Additionally, he argued that the girl could have “just left, called for help, or bitten him” if she didn’t like something.
As a result, the acquitted Syrian was still ordered to pay the victim compensation of one hundred euros. The rapist directly in the courtroom took two 50-euro bills from his pocket and placed them on the table in front of the girl’s mother.
The accused’s lawyer argued that his client, mistakenly believing that the girl was already 14, merely urged her on, and that the victim could have left or sought help. A psychologist also noted that the victim did not have any lasting injuries.
